We are undertaking a strategic review of a community platform.
The platform was developed by a charity in 2017 to help connect people to their community. It is an online directory of services, activities, events and volunteering opportunities. The platform is free for individuals, groups and organisations to sign up and use. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the platform has often become a first port of call for residents and communities looking for, or offering, support. The platform also has an increased presence with policy and decision makers and high levels of engagement with partners and stakeholders.
The strategic review is concentrating on three main areas:
- Process review – how has the platform evolved in its delivery and what does this tell us about future delivery opportunities and challenges around supporting residents?
- Impact review – how is the platform improving the health, wellbeing, activities, social connections of residents through sharing activities, services, campaigns and volunteering opportunities etc?
- Economic review – is the platform offering value-for-money and supporting communities on an efficient and cost-effective basis? What sustainable funding models might be pursued?
