As a Registered Nurse, RN joining our team, you're embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier How you'll contribute A Registered Nurse, RNwho excels in this role: The IV/PICC Nurse is a Registered Nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing patients individualized IV access needs, developing a specific plan related to IV Therapy needs and implementing and evaluating an individualized plan for each patient. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsible for the insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC). Provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines. Serve as a preceptor for RN's who have successfully completed a training course for the insertion of PICC Lines. Initiates training and education for nursing staff, patient/family as required. Provides specialized knowledge, assessment, and skills in clinical setting in regard to obtaining vascular access, maintaining vascular access and troubleshooting vascular access devices. Administers Cath Flow for obstructed lines, per physician order. Performs the appropriate application of the device algorithm. Performs ultrasound guided peripheral IV starts. What we're looking for Successful completion of an Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma Program. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required through American Heart Association (AHA) by the completion of hospital orientation Licenses: Requires a current state Registered Nurse license upon hire.
